    Buildings

I saw the update for this month (looks good), However I'm not sure that static looking buildings *work* for Tractionists.. I though that the Tractionist buildings (while they'd still be stactic for the purposes of gameplay) could be on tracks, as most Tractionists are terrified of even stepping on ground thats not constantly moving!

That way it still fits in with the fluff and is functionly identical to the Green Storm's buildings.*

Furthermore; I wish to dismiss the preposterous notion that a machine heavier than air could fly under its own power.

    Re: Buildings

They are Green Storm buildings although I admit we didn't say it anywhere in the update. A quick way to tell is to look in the top right of the renders and it has the team logo of the object.

I agree that all Tractionist buildings should be on tracks but there is the problem that at times they would have had to fight on the ground. For example if they ever did break through the Shield Wall (we're assuming that ODIN event never happened) due to the sheer size of the wall and the fact it's mostly stone it would take ages to cut a path big enough for a city to get through. Remember that they can't "digest" stone so it would have to be moved aside. So I would suggest that they would send troops in on foot to keep up the advance while the cities are still munching the wall. By doing this they would hopefully prevent the build up of Green Storm forces at a new defensive line and capture enough ground behind the wall to stop the Green Storm bombarding the cities at work from a distance.

I agree that it's not strictly to the Tractionist philosophy but in war sacrifices have to be made to win, and if that means walking on the ground for a month or so I doubt that they would even hesitate. Any buildings the Tractionist did have on the ground would be just temporary tents etc.. after a month or so they could start getting through suburbs and the troops could move back to fighting off them.

Wouldn't it be possible for the tractonists to airlift a few small buildings in, you'd include tents as well, its just the officers and a few other people would probably refuse to stand on the ground!

Perhaps I'll put it to the concept team to see if they can come up with something along those lines

    Re: Buildings

Maybe a little OT, but if the modelers work with Max, perhaps they could have a look at the RayFire plug-in?

It's an awesome plug-in to create very nice, destructible models without almost no performance drop.

    Regards,

RayFire is something we want to investigate at some point. I can't say we've look at it yet though.
