OK, these are to work alongside the squad skills, here. They would work like the pieces of squad leader equipment found in bf2142. Whilst the squad already unlocks a certain number of kits etc, these could be one-off pieces of equipment which can be chosen (or assigned by the commander, whatever) instead of the skills.

I'm thinking things other than weapons - perhaps portable cover (as mentioned in a previous suggestion), or the flare gun we've previously talked about to alert nearby comrades to a site of combat. I'm sure you guys will have ideas for them.
