Most of you will remember barbed wire in bf1942 - impassable, and it hurts like hell if you run into it. I'm just thinking to myself, is there a place for it in TW, because I can see it coming in helpful (say, at the sides of machine gun nests). It would mean people couldn't run directly through it but, unlike a wall, they *could* shoot through it.
thats true, in BF1942 barbed wire was great for anti infantry but tanks could drive straight through it, personally I would prefer walls with shooting ports for the green storm to line some of the trench emplacements.
Problem with them is that they're a little unbalanced; you can easily shoot out, but they're pretty hard to attack. I see these as being a way to seal off certain pathways and creating choke points without stopping people shoot that way, and creating the illusion that it's not a really closed off map. Its use should be avoided in areas where tanks are gonna be.
