I just wiped my windoze PC (it got slow and I think it's had a severe case of PMS when it comes to... well, anything recently. Something about not being able to start essential windoze services ) and I'd forgotten how much easier Norton Ghost makes things. For those of you not using it - next time you wipe your computer, get windows set up, get all your drivers and things set up, then you can use Ghost (from DOS so as not to make an image that includes the backup tools you just used to make it) to make an image of your hard drive. That way, when you inevitably come to wipe it again, you can just pop your ghost disk in the drive and restore from your backup (which you've saved to a handy DVD). Shazzam. None of the usual "We're going to take several hours to get a PC set up, because windows needs to install, then you need to get all your drivers/install those essential programs etc." Not a spot of it. Just plain, simple, shazzam. I just restored my computer to good-as-new-health inside 20 minutes.
now that is a gewd idea... come to think of it my PC is starting to groan under the wieght of far too many 1 gig demos... Im gonna have a quick clean up.
