I was reading up a bunch of information on German news outlet Spiegel.de regarding this situation. It's somewhat unsettling because so little is known about the situation. His third son seems to be taking over for daddy, and my guess is, not much will change, but you never know...
I don't think anyone knows how this will play out - recent moves on the international stage suggest the military has grown almost more powerful than the leader which might throw the succession into doubt or cause more provocations as the army tries to show it's influence over the new leader... but to be quite honest the whole regime is a puzzle wrapped in an enigma!
A small indication of that is the fact one of the most potentially dangerous individuals on the planet managed to die 2-days ago without triggering any alarms in any of the many international intelligence agencies watching him.
Who knows - did he really die of natural causes? Did he die years ago like some agencies have been saying?
Is he even dead? I mean jeeeez so many have been faked like osama who has now died twice?!? If Kim Jong is dead then good ridence to yet another opressive dictator, bring on the conspiracies!
They shall make for a nice interesting viewing, and yes general naga I'l be chomping your ear off once I've watched them and lecture you =)
