Windows Live Messenger 2009 multiple locations

This morning I noticed for the first time that my WLM 2009 refuses to sign-in in more than one place when just a few days ago it worked fine.

So I'm left wondering is anyone else having this problem? Being naturally cynical I'm wondering where Microsoft has disabled the ability for non WLM 2010 clients.

    Swap to Pidgin.

I could only get the newest version of WLM and hated it so thanks to some guy telling me about it, I now use Pidgin.

I'm not fond of the new version of WLM myself.

Cheers for the tip Fuchs. I may well have to switch to Pidgin at somepoint in the future. Does pidgin have multiple location signin?

I have no idea, I just use it at home. When I'm at school or anywhere else and I want to access instant messaging I use this: http://www.ebuddy.com/

But thats mostly because I don't know how to get WLM on Mac.

Re: Windows Live Messenger 2009 multiple locations

    /Solved

Turns out somehow my Messenger settings were reverted on both machines so it was a combination of things. Firstly one machine was set to signout if another client tries to login. The other machine was set to the same PC name which once changed allowed me to connect again.

    Mystery Solved
