1100 on a screen? I don't know, rather spend some more cash in the actual rig and buy a cheaper screen. I bought mine for 150 Euro's and 1920x1080 is sufficient enough for every new game and some old games can't even handle it.

If you want a large screen then that sort of price is unvoidable in my opinion. Watch out for for the type of monitor though - TN monitors are faster (~5ms compared to ~8ms) but IPS are far superior in image quality (IPS have the full 16.7 million colour range whereas TN monitors use dithering/blending to reach 16.2 million but not as accurately).

To simplify the choice to the extreme - hardcore gamers tend to prefer TN for the faster response time (we're talking milliseconds), hardcore artists prefer IPS for the more accurate colour rendering.

Very true, I have a TN screen with a 2 millisecond response time, however, as an artist, sometimes I lament a slight lack of image quality every now and then. But then my screen is probably only worth about 300CAD$ by now (550CAD$ + tax when I bought it 3 years ago), so I'm sure that a screen that is worth 1100$, will not disappoint either way.
