    Getting a new computer

soo i got tired of my laptop and decided to get something new

after looking around a bit i found that couldn't find any finished computer i was satisfied with so i'm gonna build one on my own

    Specs:
    ASUS P8P67-M Pro
Intel Core i5 2500 Sandy Bridge
    nVidia GeForce GTX 570
    4GB 1600Mhz DDR3 Kingston
    Western Digital Black Caviar 1TB
    Windows 7

and a few other things to top it off with

parts are already ordered but by the look of it's first going to get mailed in the beginning of next month 'cause there's some things they don't have home right now :/

If you like overclocking, you should get the K2600 instead. It looks good overall!

    Are you familiar with water-cooling?

    Re: Getting a new computer

for now i'm not going to overclock - only learned that there was something called overclocking a few days ago - besides as things stands now i simply don't have anything left to spend

i'm not to sure what u mean whether i'm familiar with water cooling - yes i know what it but no i havn't worked with it - as a matter of fact this is the first computer i'm building - i'm not going with the stock cooler either but getting a cooler master hyper 212 plus so i don't think i've any big problems there

    EDIT:

and yes that is the 64-bit version i'm getting

Me wants! I love putting hardware together; it's great fun and can be somewhat challenging a few times!

I didn't notice any SSD there though; since you did a complete upgrade you should really pick-up a cheap Corsair RealSSD 64gb SSD to use as your main partition (where the OS is installed too), since it will really boost-up your loading time by all from 1-2 minutes! I can boot into Windows in just about 17 seconds after I've pushed the On-button.

Also, did you look at the Obsidian 700/800D chassis?

    Re: Getting a new computer

i'm gonna live without an ssd for now atleast - might upgrade that later on... 17 sec boot time does sound... attractive :3

for cases didn't look around alot tbh - HAF 922 was pretty much the first i looked at and stuck with that as it's both an awesome looking while having some neat features for air flow etc
did look at the HAF-X but thought that was to expensive

    *looks up corsair case*

yh... not gonna buy one of those

Haha, well yeah, they're expensive but my God; if you have one of those you won't be changing any chassis for a very long time! The design is time-less, and the quality is top-notch!

Regarding the SSD; a new hard-drive/SSD is probably the easiest component that can speed-up a PC - I'm very happy with mine!

from the review i saw on that case it does indeed seem awesome but i really don't fancy the timeless design tbh

for ssd right now my rig seems to be running at a good speed - yes that's right it's build and installed now

IT'S ALIVE! IT'S ALIVE!! ... always wanted to say that

i'll post a pic when i find time to go away from this to take one
