I've been using Firefox for years now and I'm still coming across great add-ons both new and old. That and the fact that based on site usage data I know the majority of our community use Firefox (all data is anonymous don't worry!) I thought I would share my top 5 add-ons as well as well as my current theme in the hope that others would do the same and maybe I'll find a few new gems
My current theme is Cromifox Extreme - after using Chrome a few weeks back for compatibility testing of the new site I fell in love with the minimalistic UI and larger view area. Chromifox Extreme makes Firefox look practically identical to Chrome but without all the quirky web-parsing problems and all your favourite addons you can't leave behind
- Adblock Plus - Blocks *almost* all website advertising
- Xmarks (Formerly Foxmarks) - Synchronises your bookmarks across multiple computers as well as making them available to you on the move by logging into their site. There is also the option to syncronise passwords between computers (turned off by default).
- Download Statusbar - shows current downloads in the status bar instead of a popup making it easier to track progress, it is also highly configurable to auto-hide certain file extentions etc...
- Tabinta - allows you to set a key combination to insert a tab into a text area (doesn't work on most forums but great for coding)
- Personas - allows advanced customization of the default Firefox theme with a variety of styles. Good for brightening up your browser to your own taste
