Thread: Dedicated server support?

First..no I have not read/searched everywhere for the answer..if already answered, please just direct me to it.

Will there be a dedicated sever package I could send to or direct my server provider to download?
Will TW be like a mod that other games use...be able to be downloaded from game server to player?
I have kept a Crysis Wars server running for months now just in anticipation of this mod. Crysis Wars/Crysis while beautiful just not my cup o' tea, prefer WW2 type games.
Traction Wars is looking great, really hope to be able to play it soon,

Way back when the old NSArmslab.com (not the new, tacky one) was in operation, and I was a proud team member before its closure, the principle was people paid for dedicated server slots for their clans; in order to help with the upkeep of the website and development of their mods. This worked really well until IRL-issues kicked in for the site leader...

I'm not sure how this would work for Traction Wars, but it is an option to consider should the mod ever want to "expand"

Welcome to the community Dohfugwimee! No-one has asked us about dedicated support yet so I'm afraid I will have to be quite vague for the moment.

A multiplayer mod such as Traction Wars needs good quality servers and server-admins so we the mod will support dedicated servers so server admins like yourself can upload the mod to your server.

Now I have to become more vague but in my personal view it seems unlikely that we will allow server-side modding beyond the necessary administration controls/settings. Again I would like to emphasise that is my personal view and not necessarily that of the team.

The mod will not be downloadable by players through the vanilla game, the mod is just to large and complex to do it that way even if there was support to do it I can't see it being done that way. Who knows though!

On the side of client management, I suppose it really depends on what you'll be doing with the mod. In any case you may want to explain your situation to Crytek, as they can provide some insights if you indeed decide to use dedicated servers.
