Back in the days of SOF2, I used to play what I called an "offensive sniper" - my reasoning being as follows:
The draw distance on random maps (randomly generated heightmaps, with pre-set terrain and a few objects) was quite low - but NOT if you used thermal goggles. I could pick out an enemy well before coming into draw distance, so I could just sit back and take him down before he knew what hit him. Got banned from quite a few servers though; they thought I had invisa-hax.
More recently, Cod4 + that semi-auto sniper rifle => ownage. It's a 2-hit kill in the torso, which is more than powerful enough being as you can re-fire almost instantly, and most of the time they never know where you're coming from (high draw distance, decent camo in urban terrain)

And the steam coming off the silo doors...
Ha, the steam! What I wouldn't give to be able to turn particles down a la (apparently alt gr + a produces ? on xfce :s ) Black Hawk Down - you could completely get rid of smoke grenades like that ^^

I still don't have crysis yet... [dammit] but I usually am the run and gun type person, I fail utterly at stealth.
I like squad play, my favourite time was playing Project Reality v0.3 for the first time. We went in as a squad in two groups of three. Hit the objective from two sides at once. Perfect VOIP communication and we advanced with every angle covered perfectly. Didn't loose a single guy even though there were 10ish guys in there. Of course we got slaughtered about 2 minutes later when the whole enemy team hit us all at once.....but it was good up until that point.![]()
In Crysis I'm ashamed to admit I get owned, I'm just can't do the jumping and spraying thing. I'm more of a drop on one knee and take aim sort of player.
I'm a medic/Support (In Battlefield 2 Medic, In 2142 Support) I'm not the best shot so I help teamates out (except in titans, but in such a confined space, who could miss?) I like seige situations so...support. Occasionly I dabble with the Anti-Tank if my base is getting spammed or if a positions being a pain to take.
I liked a game of BF2 I played once where the whole squad was really well co-ordinated, we got right near an enemy spawn point and then all just hung around near containers.. was fun. BF2142 its great when a commander actually listens, like once on a titan game our titan's shield was down and we were on about 1/2 health where the other titan's sheild wasn't even down. Anyway 4 people stayed and defended ours (me included) and everyone else attacked the instand their shield went down. My team won but only just (one more hit and we would have been out). Good times....
Furthermore; I wish to dismiss the preposterous notion that a machine heavier than air could fly under its own power.
It's for precisely that reason that many of the gameplay features in TW are specifically aimed at helping encourage close-knit squad-based play, rather than the more loan-wolf type play that you so often get from online gamesI like when people agree with me, it makes me feel all warm and bubbly inside.

Bubbly? - you sure that not some dodgy pizza you had last night?![]()
* A little late, but figured I'd give it a shot anyway. I'm a mix between sniper and black ops. In BF2 I can make more use of the SVD at any range except point blank than I can the G36E. In CoD4, it's rare that anyone knows where I am at any given moment. They might think they know, but they're usually surprised. Especially on maps where I can get the ghillie suit. You wouldn't believe the number of times I've sat here laughing as people walked right in front of me.
* Cloak mode is my favorite in Crysis. Just wish it was more useful. Doesn't really help being invisible when people can still see you, let alone that awful noise it makes...
They'll never see me coming...
