    Crysis 2 PC Demo Released

The time has come for PC gamers to take their best shot in Crysis 2 multiplayer. Available for download at http://crysis.ea.com and other partner sites on March 1, the Crysis 2 multiplayer demo includes two stunning maps, two adrenaline-filled modes, and hours of multiplayer action. In the demo, PC gamers will master the game’s signature Nanosuit, which allows them to be strong, be invisible, be fast and become the ultimate weapon.

Players will compete in six vs. six matches set against a war-torn Manhattan in two maps: “Skyline”, set on top of the rooftops and interiors of skyscrapers, and “Pier 17”, an open environment with limited cover. The demo also features two modes: “Team Instant Action” pits two teams against each other as they kill as many opponents as possible to win the round and “Crash Site,” where players will battle for control of alien drop pods, earning points by guarding their pods and keeping enemies at bay.

Developed by Crytek UK, Crytek’s specialist multiplayer studio, Crysis 2 multiplayer features six gameplay modes and 12 maps set in iconic locations across New York City. Throughout the multiplayer campaign, players earn up to 50 ranks and a variety of different upgrades to their weapons and their Nanosuit. Gamers who pre-order Crysis 2 today will receive an automatic upgrade to the Crysis 2 Limited Edition, available while supplies last. This special edition includes four must-have in-game unlocks for the ultimate multiplayer experience, including:

    - Bonus XP - Players will jump into multiplayer battles with an edge by starting with enough experience points to gain early access to all preset class load-outs.
    - SCAR Hologram Decoy - This special attachment to the SCAR will project a hologram image of the player, allowing them to confuse their opponents with the decoy.
    - SCAR Weapon Skin - This digital camouflage skin will allow players to add a personalized touch to one of the more popular assault rifles in the game.
    - Platinum Dog Tag - This special one-of-a-kind dog tag is one of over 250 that will be collectible in Crysis 2 multiplayer, helping to separate you from the rest of the field.

Celebrated by press worldwide, Crysis 2 has been named by CNN, GameSpot, Game Informer, PlayStation: The Official Magazine, PC Gamer and IGN as one of the most anticipated games of 2011. The game arrives on Xbox 360 computer and videogame system, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and PC on March 22 in North American and March 25 in Europe. The PC version of Crysis 2 multiplayer will also support dedicated servers, a must-have for PC gamers. For a list of partners, please visit Crytek’s community hub, where gamers can also discuss the demo and provide feedback to the Crytek team, http://www.mycrysis.com.

After playing for about an hour I must say I'm not a huge fan - perhaps with practise and a decent internet connect I could do better but I found it pretty hard going.

I'll try it again with Eyefinity turned off and see if that makes it a little easier

I've played it on 360, but it appears the PC Demo Installer sometime after March 1st broke! I can't login through that and neither can thousands of other players...

On the whole, however, it is slightly easier to play the demo on the console than PC, unless you have a mouse like the Razer Naga given the "quick suit menu" has been abolished. The most annoying thing for me was the amount of times it would lock up the console for everyone in a game-room.

There are a few issues with the game-rooms in the PC version as well unfortunately

The suit menu is still there in the PC version but as there are only two modes per class now they've bound them to Q and E which makes for quicker access than the menu anyway.

Try downloading the demo via Steam, from what I hear that will get around the problems.

Personally I didn't like the demo very much at all, I hate to say it but it felt like a complete console port. I know the sp will be different, because FreeRadicals made the demo and they're primarily a console developer. But seeing stuff like press start, or adjust your TV brightness, aim assist is the nail in the coffin.

There are other minor annoyances like the weapons taking up too much space on screen, low res textures, tiny 12 player maps.

Was going to buy this day 1, but i will hold off for some solid pc reviews beforehand.

Funny video describing how i feel:

I played and wasn't impressed. Felt like CoD with nanosuits. Kinda irks me how they turned maximum armor from a passive power into an active one. The singleplayer might still be worth it though, i just hope there will be plenty of movement freedom like in Crysis 1.

It definitely has a much stronger console feel now

I was planning to pre-order but now I think I'll sit tight for reviews like Brrr. I'll enjoy the demo while it lasts though

I'm not sure you'll ever get away from that for years. I think the issue is; until a proper game comes out which does multiplayer differently, every game will feel like CoD with a few modifications.

I was hoping that Crysis 2 could achieve that with such a different background but apparently not - who knows perhaps the Demo isn't a very good representation of the whole game?
