Some pretty powerful features demonstrated - CryEngine3 is certainly a power to watch in the future. I'm not aware of anything that can come close to it apart from perhaps the new latest Frostbite.
True indeed if you look at the destructible-environments, as you can see a clear similarity with these two engines.
Also, I noticed the Vertex-color grading-shader, and from my reckoning Sebastian___ (A well-known Crymodder) made a similar system a while ago, while this is just a recent feature CE3 have had.
Could we expect that CryTek "borrowed" this technique from Sebastian___ ? I think so.

I'm definitely looking forawrd to Crysis 2, the engine most definitely looks amazing. I really liked the BFBC2 frostbite engine but I think the Cry engine is a few steps higher up
True indeed, and it's much more customable (wrong spelling here I guess)!

Any news on whether its moddable yet?
I haven't looked around too much though, but I *think* I came across an article claiming it to be released with the new SandBox (later the SDK perhaps?), as it's been a "tradition" for CryTek to release the SB alongside the game so.

CryEngine3 will almost certainly be moddable as Crytek have a great reputation for mod support. However there is currently no word on how portable it be from CryEngine2 => 3.
if i'm not wrong i think i've seen quite a bit threads about CE2=>CE3 - if i remember right most assets should transfer able - at the very least i'm pretty sure i saw maps are

Definitely impressive. I'm a bit wary of playing games on PC that were built for consoles, though...
I agree that CryEngine is clearly a cut above Frostbyte in everything except for system requirements. We'll see how well they've optimized CryEngine 3 for PC (or if they did at all, heh...). Luckily, CryEngine was built for PC and 'ported' to console whereas Frostbyte was built for consoles and ported to PC.![]()
They'll never see me coming...
