I have a question which isn't listed here?

A: If you can't find a question answered here you can ask the community or you can ask the team directly via the questions area of the community forums. Particularly good questions may be added here in the FAQs or featured in the next newsletter so your thinking caps on!

We will reply to every question sent to us but unfortunately we can't promise to give an answer each time. There are somethings which will remain a surprise until release.

    Q1: What is Traction Wars?

A: Traction Wars is a World War II standalone game on the cutting-edge CRYENGINE3 which will bring the towns and countryside of Normandy during the depths of the Second World War to your screens. The game concentrates on realism, historical accuracy & tactical teamplay. In Chapter One Traction Wars will be featuring the Normandy Campaign between the British and German Armies between June 6th and August 22nd 1944.

Q2: When will Traction Wars be released?

A: The release date for Traction Wars - Chapter One: Overlord has yet to be announced. Keep an eye on our community forums and the site frontpage to keep up-to-date.

    [UPDATED]

Q4: How can I get involved?

A: You can help the game by telling your friends about us and by joining in discussions on the forum. We are always interested in hearing ideas and suggestions for the game. If you have an idea please let us know by posting in the suggestions forum.

If you have a skill you think we could use then you can see a list of open positions on our recruitment page at www.twmod.org/recruitment.

Q5: I thought Traction Wars was a Steampunk Mod for Crysis?

A: In October 2008 the team took the decision to stop production of the mod based on the work of Philip Reeve due to a failure to secure a intellectual property license from the author.

We cut our losses and started on a new WWII mod project (now indie) of the same name, which is the game you see here today. You can read the original annoucement here.

    Q6: Will there be a singleplayer/Co-op?

A: There is currently no singleplayer or co-op mode planned for Traction Wars.

Q7: What is the official time?

A: The game team and community spans the world so we use GMT (aka UCT) as the official game time. The default timezone of the forum is also GMT but you can change it to your own timezone in your account settings.

Q8: Will I have to pay for the game?

A: There are no plans for charging for the game.

    Q10: What is OVERLORD?

A: The game has been divided up into a series of releases called chapters; the first of which we have called OVERLORD after the codename for the invasion of Normandy. Each new chapter will build upon and extend the previous chapter rather than replacing it.

Between the release of new chapters we will continue to patch and maintain the current version so players won't have to wait for the next chapter for any issues to be resolved.

Q11: Is there a list of the game features?

A: The full list of features for OVERLORD has not been annouced but you can find a taste of what is to come on the "About Traction Wars" page

    Q12: Can I be a betatester?

A: We are not looking for or accepting any beta testers at the present time. You can see the list of available positions on the "Join Us" page.

    Q13: Will there be vehicle??

A: At the present time vehicles are not expected to be included in the release of OVERLORD however it is still possible that a limited number of vehicles will make the first release.

We have started working on vehicles as making them realistic will take some time but OVERLORD will take priority until release.
