    Introduction

Thank you for showing interest in joining the Traction Wars Team. This page is designed to help interested Game Artists to make an informed decision about joining the team. The page is divided into the following sections:

    A History History
The Traction Wars Team was put together for the first time in early 2007 to produce a steampunk mod for Battlefield 2142. Now 3 years later, the team has seen many changes not least a change of engine and subject matter but the team's desire for quality has only increased over that time. Traction Wars offers Game Artists and Modders a new and exciting project on Crysis Wars which uses the cutting edge CryEngine2 engine. We aim to create a realistic and historically accurate environment for players to immerse themselves, whilst maintaining the highest standards of fun gameplay. Featuring the German and British armies of World War II in the first 3 months after D-Day the mod will bring unique tactical teamplay to combined armoured and infantry combat.

    How Do I Join?
There are two routes to joining the Traction Wars team:

    1. Traction Wars Developer (TWDEV) : A TWDEV is a full member of the development team and as such is expected to be active in the developer forums and keep to tight deadlines. TWDEVs however get access to internal testing builds and are listed on the team list as being a full member of the team.
    2. Traction Wars Contributing Artist (TWCON): A TWCON is not a full member of the development team. TWCON is designed for those talented artists who would like to work on the mod but don't have the time to work full-time as a TWDEV. A TWCON is recognised in the team list as a contributing artist but do not get access to internal testing builds. However they may be invited by the Mod Leader to join individual alpha or beta testing sessions.

Both TWDEVs and TWCONs have to agree to the same rules and are subject to both an Confidentiality Agreement (NDA) and Property Agreements. To view a copy of the agreement click here .

    FAQs
We have listed a few of the commonest questions we get asked before or during an application.

    Contents:

Q: What happens to my application?
A: After your application has been submitted it is sent to the team recruiters via e-mail. One of the recruiters will send you a reply by e-mail or private message if your registered on our website. The e-mail will either informing you of the next steps before starting your trial if your application has past the initial vetting or to explain why we can't go any further with your application if your application didn't make it through. We don't mind applicants re-applying within reason.

    Q: It's been a few days - why haven't I heard from a recruiter yet?
A: Loathed though we are to admit it we're only human. We try to reply to all applications as swiftly as possible but we sometimes aren't able to due to unusually large numbers of applications, seasonal vacations or our mail server eating the mail. If you don't hear from one after 7 days please here to send a private message directly to one of the senior recruiters who will get back to you personally.

    Q:What is the trial?
A: The trial is normally a single task assigned by your recruiter to be completed in a pre-agreed timescale. In some cases we ask applicants to do more than one task either because we want to give them the benefit of the doubt if they didn't succeed immediately or because the task is disproportionality small or easy compared to other applicants.

Q: How long do I have to complete the trial?
A: The timescale for your task will be discussed with you before you start the task. The timescale for every task and artist is different as it depends on both the complexity of the task, the skill of the artist and the amount of time the artist has available each week. It isn't a race so be realistic when discussing it with your recruiter.

Q: What is the difference between a TWDEV and TWCON?
A: Put simply a TWCON is a part-time member of the team. A TWDEV is a full-time member of the team and as such is expected to work to shorter timescales and be far more active in discussions and team activities.

Q: I'm halfway through an application and I've decided I want to be a TWDEV instead of a TWCON (or visa versa)
A: Switching your application from a TWDEV to a TWCON or visa versa is easy, you just have to talk to your recruiter. Depending on how far your through your trial and what your doing for it you may have to do a second task if you want to move from a TWCON application to TWDEV.

Q: Can I move from a TWCON to TWDEV once on the team?
A: Each team member is different so there is no universal answer. You would have to talk to your Head of Department and the Mod Director and in most cases that is all that
